In 2007, SITEM permanently includes the concept of “enhancement of the cultural offer” with SIME. It covers not only the activities of cultural sites – museums, libraries, mediatheques, archives, heritage sites and live performances – but also those of local authorities. It is based on an exhaustive programme of conferences which have enjoyed huge success. In partnership with Film France, it has instituted the Trophées Atalante which highlight the positive impact that cinema and television filming can have on the economy, tourism and general reputation of the sites selected.

Inexorably, the reputation of SIMESITEM is on the rise, and so too is its international participation, now at 20% of exhibitors. Today, it is considered to be Europe’s uncontested number 1.

SIMESITEM enjoys the patronage of the Ministry of Culture, and now that of the Ministry of Tourism.
